Razo Beach House

A coastal retreat in one of Europe’s last unspoilt Atlantic landscapes

A privileged location in the natural space of Razo Baldaio

Razo Beach House is a bright and spacious home located less than 500 metres from the ocean, within the protected natural area of Razo–Baldaio, one of the great hidden treasures of Europe’s Atlantic coast.

Here, the landscape still feels open and untouched. A vast beach of white sand and dunes, wetlands and lagoons, Atlantic light and wide skies come together in a rare natural setting that has remained largely unchanged over time. Even in the height of summer, long walks along almost empty beaches are still possible.

This is A Costa da Morte at its most authentic: wild, spacious and deeply connected to the ocean.

Everyday life shaped by the sea

From the house, you can walk to the beach and to a small selection of local cafés and restaurants in Razo, allowing for an easy, unrushed daily rhythm where the car is often unnecessary.

Mornings begin with Atlantic light and fresh air. Days flow between beach walks, simple meals, reading, rest and long hours outdoors. Evenings are quiet, marked by the sound of the ocean and changing skies.

For exploring further afield, Carballo is just 10 minutes away, A Coruña around 30 minutes, and Santiago de Compostela approximately 55 minutes by car. This balance between isolation and accessibility makes the house especially suited to longer stays.

A home designed to slow down

Razo Beach House is not a holiday rental designed for quick stays. It is a real home, created for those who value space, calm and time without pressure.

Generous interiors open onto porches and a large garden, inviting life both indoors and outside. Reclaimed wood, antique elements and carefully chosen furnishings coexist with modern comfort, creating warm, serene and functional spaces.

A home designed to slow down

Here, time naturally slows: walking to the ocean, cooking with fresh local ingredients, long lunches and quiet evenings, days shaped by light, weather and tides — with the steady sound of the Atlantic in the background.

This house is ideal for couples, friends or families who value nature, simplicity and a close relationship with the Atlantic.

A place to wake up with ocean light, live outdoors and feel — even if only for a while — that you belong to the landscape rather than simply passing through it.

Hosted by locals

We are the owners and we host the house ourselves. Before and during your stay, we accompany you with personal recommendations and carefully curated local guides: places to visit, coastal walks, gastronomy and everyday spots that form part of life here.

If you feel like being more active, the area also offers some of the best surfing conditions on Galicia’s coast, horseback riding through open landscapes and the possibility to explore the surroundings by bicycle — always at your own pace.

We are always available to help you plan a stay that feels effortless, natural and deeply connected to the place.

One of the porches features an outdoor kitchen and barbecue dining area. Large glass doors allow the space to open completely in spring and summer, and close in autumn and winter, making it a perfect indoor-outdoor setting to enjoy all year round with family or friends.

The garden is organised into different zones: a dining area, a relaxing area and an open space where children can play. Everything is designed for effortless outdoor living, without having to leave the house.

Surroundings

Atlantic nature, wide beaches, lighthouses, fairytale forests and a life by the sea

Razo Beach House is just a short walk from the protected natural area of Razo–Baldaio, widely regarded as one of Spain’s best beaches for its size, excellent conservation and vast Atlantic landscape. From the house, you can reach the beach on foot and make the ocean part of your daily life: long walks on the sand, peaceful swims and sunsets that feel endless.

Razo–Baldaio is one of Galicia’s longest beaches, a true natural coastal stretch with kilometres of white sand, dunes, marshes and a hidden saltwater lagoon tucked between the dunes. The lagoon turns into a natural pool, loved by both adults and children.

Walking, surfing and discovering the landscape

Just a few metres from the house runs the Ruta dos Pinos do Mar, a coastal trail that follows the ocean and connects Caión with Malpica. Part of the route crosses the dunes and continues along the beach, allowing walks of up to 6 km by the sea.

The area invites outdoor activities such as surfing, horse riding  along the beach, gentle hikes  and cycling — always with the Atlantic as a constant presence and the freedom to shape each day at your own pace.

Lighthouses, villages and the Costa da Morte

From Razo, you can easily reach some of the most iconic lighthouses of the Costa da Morte, such as Fisterra, Punta Nariga, Cabo Vilán and Roncudo, as well as charming fishing villages with their own identity.

Thanks to its strategic location, the house is an excellent base to explore different corners of the coast and inland Galicia:

Malpica and Caión (15 min), Ponteceso (20 min), Laxe (30 min), Muxía and Fisterra (approx. 60 min)...

Local services and everyday life

Razo beach also offers a selection of bars and good restaurants, some of them offering takeaway and collection services, making it easy to enjoy a meal out without any hassle.

Just 10 minutes away is Carballo, the main town of the region, with all essential services: supermarkets, medical centre, restaurants, tapas areas, cinema, sports facilities, a nearby golf course and a well-known thermal spa.

On alternating Thursdays and Sundays, a lively local market takes place, offering fresh local products and a true taste of everyday life in the area.

Well connected

The house is easily accessible by motorway, just 10 minutes away.

A Coruña: 35 minutes.

Santiago de Compostela: 55 minutes.

It is also a ideal option for pilgrims who, after completing the Camino de Santiago, seek a few days of rest in a calm natural setting.
